CONSUMERS ARE PROTECTED
Consumer Affairs Minister Chris Tremain opened a brand new weights, measures and product safety testing facility in Auckland . The new building and laboratory will support testing of petrol pumps, supermarket scales, and other measuring devices to ensure they are accurate. It will also be used to test whether products meet safety standards, and to help monitor fuel quality. “The work done in this building will affect every single New Zealander,” says Mr Tremain. “Consumers have a right to know that when they buy 40 litres of petrol, they receive that exact amount. They also have a right to know that the scales at their local supermarket are accurate.“Product safety is also hugely important. The sale of unsafe goods exposes consumers to unacceptable risk, and it is unfair on the businesses which do invest in testing to make sure their products are safe.” The building replaces the previous Measurement and Product Safety Service site in Panmure. It has been fitted out with innovative new systems and equipment to better meet current needs.

BA will now have to play Waitakere in thier home ground as their request has been tuirned down by OFC to transfer the match to NZ. Ba amde this request to gather som,e funds for the flood affecetd people in the western division. But the decision has been made against their favour . According to OFC Ba officials have been made aware of the decision and the schedule will remains same it was intially. Ba will take on Waitakere United at Govind Park at 3pm on 4th of March.

EXPLOSION IN IRAQ
Gunmen assassinated an Iraqi army general on Tuesday in one of several incidents that left at least four people dead and 28 wounded, according to government officials. Gen. Aziz Hamzah died after being attacked while driving in western Baghdad, Iraqi police said. In the other incidents, two roadside bombs exploded in Baghdad on Tuesday, one in the al-Mashtal neighborhood of southeastern Baghdad and the other in the al-Bayaa neighborhood in the southwestern part of the city. Six people were injured in the al-Mashtal explosion, police said. Two suffered injuries in the al-Bayaa bombing In addition, gunmen fired on a Health Ministry official in the al-Dora district of southern Baghdad, police said. The official was wounded, police said.
